Right on the Cornish Coast now!

Newquay was memorable, but not my favourite place. We had a lovely place to stay in, Bedlam House with Mark n Carol. the sunset was pretty good, but the town itself seems pretty much a 'fish n chip, kiss me quick' or 'lads stag weekend' place. Not so great, but there it is.

As said, though, the sunset was pretty good!

Leaving Newquay, we had to cross The River Gannel

or the estuary to be more accurate, then out on to The South West Coast Path, which really is rather lovely. This section of the coastal path is pretty rugged, follows clearly marked paths, and with the recent good spell of weather makes for a very pleasant walk.

These first two are just as Newquay is left behind, and then on down the coast towards Perranporth and our goal for today, St. Agnes.

The beach at Holywell bay.

More dramatic scenes on the coastline, until you see the vast beach at Perranporth.

This was looking back to the beach at Perranporth, from the rocky cliffs on the way to St Agnes.

St. Agnes is lovely. A small cornish coastal village, with a lovely beach, two great pub/hotels, The Driftwood Spar on the edge of the beach, and The St. Agnes Hotel a mile away in the village.

An excellently run place, superb rooms, food, ale, service, everything!!

and a short walk to capture the sunset, if you are quick!

So you finish tomorrow. I think you have done damned marvelously and I have loved reading your daily blog and looking at the splendid photos you have taken along the way. Sorry that I have not contributed towards your funds but lack of beer tokens makes that impossible.....Well done Alec & partner....Cheers, Colin. :-)
